“This stay was the last gift of a monthly 60th birthday gift a month and it was by far the best one! I have had it booked for a year and this beautiful house has been worth waiting for! “The best ever fortnight’s holiday ever, anywhere! The house is awesome and the location sublime. If climbing Munros isn't your thing then these were some of our highlights: Shieldaig peninsula walk, Loch Clair walk, and the walk to Coral Beach south of Applecross. We loved the drives to Lochcarron, Applecross and most of all Diabaig. Other highlights have been Nanny’s for the best cheese scones and cake. Watching sea eagles for over an hour perching and flying around the island to the left. Seals playing and the fabulously the northern lights and a special phenomenon known as Steve! We have had some sun each day, despite some depressing forecasts. The fire has warmed us on a chilly evening and we loved waking to snow on the peaks several days in a row. We have had the best time ever, thank you!”

“What can we say just wow, and that view amazing, it changes all the time. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, super comfy beds, never been so lazy, so completely chilled. Kitchen fitted out with everything you could ever want. Tried all the seafood restaurants, Kishorn and seafood was number one. One that's not been mentioned is the Carron at Strathcarron, great food and lovely people. Had run a to Diabaig and Applecross, scary! This was a unique experience and a privilege which we enjoyed, thank you so much.”

“Where to start? The ever-changing clouds, the ever-changing light, looking over the inlet, with a book, a cup of tea, a G&T, listening to Vivaldi, the hits of the 70s, Katie Melua. Walking the Torridon glen & hills and having lunch at waterfalls, photographing the bothy in Glencarron with light that could not be better. Having coffee at Nanny’s, lunch at the seafood bar at Kishorn, again coffee at the Coast Café in Gairloch and a lovely walk to the waterfall… We had the best week!!! A few eating suggestions; the Bistro Lochcarron on a par/surpassing Gille Brighde at Diabaig? Fish restaurant at Kishorn and Walled Garden Applecross both very good. Wee Wistlestop at Torridon: lovely for lunch or coffee and cake! If you visit the Torridon hotel, make sure you find their magnificent kitchen garden. Enjoy yourselves.”

“This really is a house, and a living experience like no other. Three minor issues however; firstly the experience of living here is so immersive, fulfilling and settling that we felt less inclined to venture out. And when we did we mostly looked forward to coming back! Secondly, we really now don't want to go home. Not a common feeling we have at the end of a holiday. Finally re-booking, as we attempted to do 36 hours after arriving, seems near impossible! Congratulations and thanks to you Bridget and Gareth, this place you have created is amazing.”

“Everything about Craeg na h-iolaire surpassed our expectations. A magical place to wake up to each morning and watch the ever shifting light across the water and mountains, waiting for seals to come out and bask on the rocks once the tide had ebbed. One morning we were lucky enough to spot a pair of otters splashing about and chasing each other right in front of the house. Plenty of seabird action to track through the telescope each day. It was hard to tear ourselves away from this stunning house, but the local area had loads to offer from woodland walks and delicious lunch at the Torridon hotel, to a beautiful (and mountainous) drive to Lower Diabaig for a lovely dinner at Gille Brighde. Truly a Highland Haven we won't soon forget!”

Not only is this house breathtakingly beautiful, the view from every aspect is incredible. We thought it’d be chilly and rainy but to our delight the weather has been amazing from blue cloudless skies, clear starry nights and such a treat the aurora gave us a show too. We planned to sit and stare at the amazing view all week but it was so sunny we were out every day. Diabaig, Shieldaig, Lochcarron, Sand bay - all worth checking out. Cosy fire on at night and enjoying the last of the light. Sunrises amazing! This is such a comfortable and welcoming house, it really was like coming home.
